World Archery has announced the winners of the 2025 World Archery Awards, celebrating the standout athletes, officials and moments of the season.
Compound archer Emircan Haney of Türkiye was named athlete of the year after winning the Hyundai Archery World Cup Final in Nanjing and delivering consistent performances in a breakthrough campaign.
French recurve archer Baptiste Addis was named young star of the year (under-21), while India’s Sheetal Devi took the para archer of the year title.
A new fair play category was presented to France’s Florent Mulot following an act of sportsmanship at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, where he alerted his opponent to a shooting error before release.
Other winners included Elias Cuesta as coach of the year leading USA, the Korean recurve men as team of the year and Lais Machado Nunes from Brazil as judge of the year. The Gwangju 2025 Hyundai World Archery Championships was named best event of the season, selected by the World Archery executive board.
The overall athlete of the year award was decided by public vote, while other categories were determined by appointed panels.
The winners were revealed during a livestream hosted by former international Bernardo Oliveira, alongside panellists Lizzy Rees, Audrey Adiceom and Willem Bakker.
Archer of the year winner Emircan Haney said:
“Today is the most special moment in my 15-year archery career. The fact that this award was decided by public vote makes it even more meaningful to me. I will continue to work with the same determination and dedication towards my goals. This award is not just for me, but for all young people who follow their dreams.”
Fair play moment of the year winner Florent Mulot said:
“This is a victory I share with all those who care about the values of sport. We all practise archery for the pleasure it brings, and for those moments when we feel truly intense emotions. We have to respect our values and stay true to our principles – that’s the only way to achieve a true victory, the one we win for ourselves.”
